Artists Statement

Firstly I would like to say that I am totally in awe of the natural world around us. We live in an incredible world surrounded by wondrous creatures and breathtaking scenery, Mother Nature surely has to be the ultimate artist!

This statement, I believe, best describes the reason I create photographic artworks and the passion I have for my art. Unlike many photographers who take up photography first and then pick a discipline, photography, for me, has always been a means to an end, to create art inspired by the natural world.

I was born and raised in Bournemouth on the south coast of England in 1965 and in 1991 I emigrated to Perth, Western Australia with my girlfriend Maggie. Since then I have become an Australian Citizen and made my home here in Perth, Maggie is now my wife and we have a teenage son, Paul, who we are incredibly proud of.
In 2003 Maggie and I decided to leave our careers in software engineering and web development behind and move into Photography. This was as much a lifestyle change as a career change with my goal being to make a living doing what I love most, spend more time with our son and generally enjoy life.

Ironically I have not left computers behind, in fact computers are a very large part of my creative process as well as being a required tool for storage and processing my images. What a computer offers me is the ability to visualize my art, to add feelings and emotions to my images to enable them to accurately reflect the scene I experienced when I captured an image.

When creating artwork my goal is to provide an escape from the stresses and problems of everyday life, to tell a story, to instill emotions and to share the beauty of the places I visit. These places may be remote locations or they may be right on our doorsteps, sometimes we can be blinded to the beauty around us and just need a little help to open our eyes again.

To achieve this goal I use the tools at my disposal to recreate my vision of each scene I capture. To assure that we create only the highest quality artwork I am personally responsible for every print that we sell, from capturing the image to processing and finally printing the image to it’s highest possible standards.
Every stage my art creation process is performed using the best modern techniques and materials available producing a Fine Art Print or Canvas that will remain fade free and water resistant for your lifetime and longer.
I stand behind the quality of my work by offering a 1 year money back guarantee along with a lifetime fade free guarantee.

I hope you enjoy my artwork as much as I enjoyed creating it, if you have any comments or questions I would love to hear from you. I can be contacted by phone or email or you can join my Facebook page, read my blog or follow me on Twitter.
